FrSky ultra mini receiver R-XSR is the evolution of FrSky full range XSR receiver. The R-XSR is a standalone receiver with all the functions of XSR, in addition, it’s almost 1/3 size and 1/3 weight of XSR receiver. Moreover, there redundancy function is integrated into this tiny receiver ensures the security, and the IPEX connector makes it more convenient for you to replace antennas.
Warning - if you are running an F4 board without an inverted input for Smartport (most of them), we recommend an XSR or X4R-SB receiver. It is very difficult to solder to the pad to pull non-inverted signal from this receiver.
Please note - LUA scripts are not working with the R-XSR - you will likely have to update firmware on the receiver if and when FrSKY fixes the issue. For now we recommend using the XSR
Oct 9 update - firmware has been released here. You'll need to re-flash the receivers - use the FCC version for North America. See our video on flashing here - it's the XSR but the procedure is the same and the R-XSR comes with a cable that you can use. Pay careful attention to the wiring order, which depends on which radio you're using to flash - order is correct for the Q X7 but NOT for the Taranis X9D+)
